Fly Sheets

A fly sheet or fly rug is a lightweight fine mesh rug that offers protection to horses from flies and insects during the summer.

Most fly rugs will have a belly flap that is fastened to both sides of the rug to give protection to the belly, and many include neck covers to further maximise the horses protection. Fly sheets can also protect from sunburn on horses with sensitive skin, and help prevent bleaching of the coat from the sun. A summer sheet can also offer protection against flies and dust during the summer months and are often used as a light stable rug or travel rug in the summer.
